A few hours of your time, and a difference you can see.

TNWA volunteers help run events, sort donations, support our flagship Christmas Table, and keep the charity moving. No experience needed. Just a willingness to show up.

Based in Ballajura. ACNC Registered Charity. Police check support provided.

The work is genuinely needed, and the team will tell you that on day one.

TNWA runs on a mix of NDIS service revenue, grants, and the people who choose to give their time. Our volunteers are the reason the Christmas Table happens, the reason almost 500 people came through the Health and Community Fair last year, and the reason care packages keep getting packed and pantry shelves keep getting stocked.

A lot of volunteers tell us they leave shifts feeling part of something bigger, and a fair few of them stay involved long after their first day.

Where you can plug in.

We’ve got opportunities across the year, some one-off, some ongoing. You don’t need to commit to a roster to be useful. A single shift at an event still counts, and we’ll find a place for whatever time you’ve got.

Community Events

Setup, pack-down, guest welcoming, gift wrapping, food service, and event-day logistics. The Christmas Table and the Together Now Health and Community Fair are our two biggest moments of the year.

Emergency Relief

Sorting, packing, and distributing pantry donations. Helping prepare relief packages for City of Swan residents who've reached out. Quiet, steady work that keeps the system running.

Community Engagement

Stall support at local events across the City of Swan, including Music in the Park, NAIDOC Week, Children's Week, and others. A friendly face at the table, a brochure handed across, a quick chat about what TNWA does.

Office and Admin

Sometimes the most useful thing a volunteer can do is sit at a desk for two hours and help us catch up on data entry, mailouts, or event prep. If admin is your strength, please say so on your application.

Three things we count on from everyone.

We try to keep volunteer onboarding light. There are still a few things we ask of everyone who comes through.

Reliability.

Say what you'll do, do what you say. Events are planned around volunteer numbers, so a no-show changes the day for someone else. If something genuinely comes up, just give us a call.

Respect for everyone you'll meet.

Our work crosses cultures, ages, abilities, and life circumstances. Every person who walks through the door deserves the same warmth, regardless of why they're there.

A valid National Police Check.

For most volunteer roles you'll need a current police check. If you don't have one, we'll talk you through how to get it. It's quicker than people expect.

The application takes a few minutes.

You can apply through the link below or email us directly. We’ll come back to you with what’s coming up and where you might fit in.

02 Email us

Or send us an email.

A short note about your availability and the kinds of work you'd like to help with, and we'll come back to you within a few working days.
